Broland is in one if the loveliest spots on the beautiful island of Rousay, one of the Orkney Islands. Rousay is a great spot for a varied and interesting holiday. The island is especially known for it's rich Archeology, Bird life and great walks and hikes.
Rousay has several chambered Cairns open to the public along with Midhowe broch, a fortified home that's around 2,000 years old. Rousay is home to many interesting species of birds and has a large RSPB reserve in the centre of the island. There are many interesting walks and hikes on Rousay over varied terrain including coast, hills and lochs.
This small island has everything you'll need for a care-free holiday; a local pub serving food, a small hotel with restaurant, and only a few minutes walk from the cottage, a very well stocked local shop.
The ferry runs frequently during the day and connects Rousay to 2 other small islands, Egilsay and Wyre which both make excellent day trips.
